Open water swimming is healthy and exhilarating - but it is not for everybody.  As Icebergers, we swim year round without wetsuits. Cold water swimming is reputed to have many health benefits, but it can be daunting and dangerous, so swimming with a group who are experienced in cold conditions is vital.

If you are interested in open water swimming and joining the RBYC Brighton Icebergers; please complete this form indicating your swimming capabilities and open, cold water experience. Also include any other references, such as other swim club memberships or existing Iceberger members you know or have swam with. We will then set-up a time for a trial swim with some of us, as a guest.

NOTE: To be listed on our board, as an official Iceberger, you must firstly join as an RBYC Iceberger member and then be recognised by the committee as having completed two full winter periods swimming at least 3 times a week between June-Sept.

APPLYING TO BECOME A MEMBER - Once you’ve swam and met the basic requirements of becoming an Iceberger, you will need to join the RBYC as an Iceberger member. To do so, download the form below, fill in your details and bring it along to a swim to enable a ‘Nominator’ and ‘Senior Member’ to sign their approval.
